Online Social Work Programs
The University of Oklahoma master's in social work features hybrid courses that blend online learning with meetings on the Tulsa campus. OU designed the 60-credit program for part-time students with a full-time job. Part-time students complete the program in three or four years by taking an average of six to nine credits per semester. Courses meet on Saturdays, and students complete practicum requirements during the week. Possible courses include human diversity and societal oppression, research methods, human lifespan development, and client-centered practice. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
On-Campus Social Work Programs
The University of Oklahoma social work school offers three master’s of social work dual degree programs: a generic option; a combined master of social work and master of public health; or a combined master of social work and master of arts in international studies. A certificate in social work with American Indians and a child welfare exchange program are also available. The exchange course examines child abuse and neglect. Students may only take these master’s-level options on campus.
